Summary

This course aim is to develop your knowledge and understanding of human resource management and AI, in theory and practice within a business development and delivery of sustainability strategy.

At the end of the programme participants will:

  • Articulate the business case for HRM and Gen AI and explain the relevance of AI in this area as well as the opportunities for business 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of what is driving the AI in HRM agenda, including policy/regulation and pressure from stakeholders such as investors, customers, and employees 
  • Explain key AI in HRM approaches, technologies and insights and what they mean for business 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of key tools and concepts for managing HRM and AI issues within a business, from attraction, recruitment, development and performance management of a person through the life cycle within an organisation 
  • Develop an appreciation for how to create a robust AI for HRM strategy, following a structured process that includes doing an assessment to identify the most important AI issues for a business  
  • Demonstrate an understanding of key AI approaches, models and tools which can assist with each stage of the life cycle
  • Develop an appreciation for how to create a practical action plan to operationalise key elements of a corporate AI for HRM strategy 
  • Understand how to communicate and engage different stakeholders with a strong and authentic AI for HRM message 

Subject Assessment

  • Participants will complete
    • A learning journal, for each day of the course, to apply their learning and document their thinking as it evolves over the course
    • An assessment, following 1-3 of the course, to demonstrate learnings from each day
    • A written paper, at the end of the course, outlining learnings from the course that they will apply to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HR in their company
  • To be eligible to receive the accreditation award from TU Dublin, 100% course attendance is required
 

This programme is for:

Anyone in a business that has been tasked with developing or delivering on HRM (in whole or in part), and is aimed at developing their HRM knowledge, management and skills, and how to communicate effectively internally and externally on the value of  using AI as a core part of your HRM strategy.

 

Approach

There are a number of activities and case studies used throughout the programme which ensures that all of the learning is applied in a real way. The programme leader encourages group discussion and involvement throughout each session, ensuring opportunities for questions and real issues are discussed at all times. Best practice examples in all areas of HRM will be highlighted and discussed throughout the programme, giving participants plenty of opportunities to build on the elements of these that could be applied in their own organisations.
