This programme is for:

Those in current management roles who aspire to grow their career in leadership or incorporate leadership principles into their area of expertise, as well as leaders with a number of years’ experience, who would like to gain an accredited award.

 

Approach

There are a number of activities and case studies used throughout the programme which ensures that all of the learning is applied in a real way. Best practice examples in all areas will be highlighted and discussed during the programme, giving participants plenty of opportunities to build on the elements of these that could be applied in their own organisations. Students get access to the new Ibec Academy portal for all material and their course schedule

Submissions & Accreditation

To achieve accreditation this course is assessed by exam and assignment submissions. Individual assessments are an integral part of the programme and count towards end of year results as follows:

  • Closed book exam - 35%
  • Project (3,500-5,000 words) - 35%
  • Learning journal and class participation - 30%

70% attendance is required.

Programme Facilitators

Olive Fives

Olive is an experienced, innovative and successful organisational development consultant in Ibec with experience in a wide variety of public, private and third sector organisations in Ireland, Europe, Africa and India.  Her industry experience ranges from food manufacturing, to retail and NGO sectors.

Olive’s key skills include leadership, designing organisational development solutions, HRM and HRD auditing and evaluation. She is an excellent coach with a focus on skills, behaviours, motivations and long-term career and succession planning.

Orla Sherlock

Orla is a senior learning and development specialist and executive coach with Ibec with over 28 years’ experience. She has expertise in working with managers of all levels helping them develop their skills in undertaking performance management meetings, focusing on all levels of performers.     

As a coach, she works with managers and leaders to develop deep insights into their strengths and development areas. Her natural style is to challenge and support leaders in creating clear goals to deliver enhanced performance.  Orla’s primary areas of expertise are executive coaching, leadership and management development together with performance management & emotional intelligence. 

The CPD Diploma in Leadership programme at Ibec was very interesting and practical.
