Summary

This course gives participants an introduction to and understanding of commercial awareness, leadership, communication skills, team working, career planning, performance and people, time management and handling conflict.  It helps participants to build their knowledge, competence and confidence in these areas so that they are clear about their own strengths and how best to work with others and achieve real results.

At the end of the programme participants will have:

  • Have an understanding and commercial awareness of how a business operates
  • Develop the ability to see how vital leadership is at personal and an organisational level
  • Understand the range of communication skills including listening, body language, presenting and influencing others
  • Understand the dynamics of effective teams and how to get the best from a team of individuals at work
  • Be able to outline the models used to describe performance management at work
  • Improve skill and knowledge in the areas of time management, assertiveness and handling conflict at work
  • Have the ability to write a CV, present well at interview and exercise appropriate judgment in outlining career goals
  • Develop personal action plans for prioritising workload and managing personal goals
