Summary
A focused and practical one day programme that provides managers with the tools they need to effectively manage workplace stress.
At the end of the programme participants will:
- Understand the difference between work related v work revealed stress
- Be familiar with the legislation that governs management of stress and their responsibilities under legislation
- Be able to critically review their policies and procedures covering stress
- Ensure that a process is in place for early intervention when stress and work related stress is reported
- Be equipped to review their Occupational Health service
- Train other management on how to manage this process
This programme is for:
HR Professionals (all levels), OSH/EHS Professionals (all levels), Occupational Health Professionals (inhouse and contract), People Managers and team leaders.
Approach
The programme has been designed to enhance participants' understanding of workplace stress and other psychosocial risks in an informal, supportive setting. To achieve this objective, the programme consists of discussion and analysis of the legislative requirements that are applicable to this topic, relevant case law, and best practice solutions that can be applied. The programme's structure and content will ensure that participants acquire the knowledge and skills to proactively manage these risks but also to effectively deal with them when they do arise.

Programme Facilitators
Claire Jones
Claire is a Senior Executive working in Ibec Academy. Claire has worked in Ibec for more than 20 years and worked in the Legal Department within Ibec prior to moving into Ibec Academy. Claire is currently lead trainer and course Director on a number of diploma, certificate and short programmes for Ibec Academy. She specialises in the areas of employment law, human resource management and industrial relations.

Elaine Bowers
Elaine holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Health, a M.Sc. in Applied Environmental Sciences, and a H.Dip in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work. She has a wide range of EHS experience across many different industry sectors including medical devices, technology, and property. She has worked as a tutor and guest lecturer in OSH for more than 15 years. She has previously worked in Ibec Employer Relations division (Knowledge Centre) advising across all sectors on Occupational Safety and Health ; and during that time gained a Diploma in Employment Law. She is now working in Ibec Academy as a Senior EHS Executive developing and co-ordinating existing and new OSH/EHS/ESG courses.
